Farming & Agriculture

Photography for farmERS & agricultural machinery, past and present.

FROM MODERN MACHINERY TO RURAL HERITAGE

Farming is a life dedicated to hard work and practical skill that inspires a real sense of pride. From the latest tractors and combine harvesters to lovingly restored vintage machinery passed down the generations, there is a story behind every machine, especially involving the people behind them.

I photograph both modern and classic agricultural machinery, capturing those small yet important details, as well as the character and scale that makes each subject special. Whether you're a farmer wanting photographs of you and your working machinery, an enthusiast proud of a carefully restored classic tractor or a business looking for professional images of its equipment and colleagues, I'll work with you to create imagery that you'll be proud to display and share.

Farming isn't just about the land and machinery; it's about the people and the personal stories behind it. That's why I love working with farmers, either on their own or alongside their machinery, creating team portraits for farming-related businesses, or capturing something more personal. Perhaps it's a family with a much-loved tractor, a ploughing match or a local agricultural show. For farming families, farming is more than a job; it's a way of life.

Based in Colchester, I photograph farms, agricultural businesses, machinery and events throughout Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Kent and beyond. I can visit your farm, yard or another suitable location, or discuss arrangements to attend an event or machinery gathering.

Special Project: A year in the life of Mannings Farm

Farming follows the rhythm of the seasons, and every field has a story to tell. Last year I had the privilege to work with a local farmer documenting the journey of his field over the course of a year, from the initial preparation and cultivation through to harvest.

Through rain and shine, the project captured the changing landscape, the machinery and the work that goes into bringing a crop from field to harvest. Together, the photographs tell a story that a single image simply couldn't capture.
