This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?
Bring a friend and have fun! Having someone else being chief attention seeker will make a busy day much easier. Clean your tack and ideally, you'll need a stable or barn for those black background shots. Don't worry though, we'll go through all of that malarky on your free on-line consultation.
Are the travel expenses included in your packages?
Within reason, yes. Travel outside of that specified in the package will attract additional charges. So if you'd like a multi-day session of your Shetland in Shetland then we'll need to have a quick chat about planes and accommodation. Oh, so does that mean you could have a session with your Shetland in Shetland? Hell, yes! Just get in touch.
WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE?

Oh, OK ... Predominantly documentary along with the commissioned portraits and fine art work that you'd expect. Either way, they will make your mates go "Wow!" when you show them👌. Seen something you'd like to try on social? Get in touch and we'll give it a go!
What if the weather is bad on the day of THE shoot?
Ah, the British weather. No one really looks their best when they're soaked though, do they? So, persistent precipitation or just downright dangerous weather is best avoided. The safety of you and your horse is always paramount. We'll be in contact during the run up to your shoot and if it looks a bit grim, we'll reschedule. No problem and no extra charge.
DO YOU USE AI?
In short, not unless I really need to (like harness/bridle & lead rope removal, if desired). We pride ourselves on delivering authentic images that depict the genuine human connection between you, your horse and the environment. As such we have a dedicated editing policy which strictly limits the use of Artificial Intelligence, especially generative AI, to very specific areas of our work. Further more, unless you specify otherwise, we normally only remove temporary blemishes (those ordinarily expected to last less than 30 days).
DO YOU ONLY TAKE EQUINE PHOTOGRAPHS?
No. Even though equine photography forms an important part of our portfolio, we welcome enquiries regarding family & canine portraits as well as covering more commercial aspects such as personal branding, product photography and environmental portraiture. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
I've got a location in mind. Can we go there?
Yep.
CAN I BOOK an URGENT END OF LIFE SESSION?
Yes.
WHAT ABOUT PAYMENT?
Card or bank transfer, please. Either is fine. Bank transfer is great; it's like giving a tip without it costing you anything more. Some packages might require a deposit and if you'd like to make a couple of instalments instead of one big lump sum on delivery, just let me know.
CAN MY mate BRING THEIR HORSE TOO and split the cost?
Ooo, cheeky 😳! Oh, all right but just the two of you, in the same location. The applicable package requirements (like the total amount of photos) will still apply. You'll get a shared gallery and one of you will need to pay the bill in full, so settle up between yourselves. Want to pay a small surcharge to level up? Sure! Let's talk.
DO I GET A DISCOUNT IF I BOOK another session in the future? JUST ASKING FOR A FRIEND.
Oh, you're on a roll now. Funny you should ask, though. If you've booked a standard or bespoke package in the last 18 months, let us know and we'll make sure we give you a little something back; after all documenting your horse's life journey is priceless.
Can i get the 'raw' photos?
No. Would you go into a nice restaurant and ask for the ingredients so you could try and cook it at home? Probably not 😊
HOW LONG DO YOU KEEP THE PHOTOS?
As long as I possibly can. If the time comes when you need to ask please do get in touch and I'll gladly work with you to make that time as comfortable as possible, whatever the reason might be.
